I married this.

Updated to point out this hilarious thing. When you click on the blog post and it says I married this…..all it has is the first picture from our Asian market adventures and that’s of a flounder 😜 I did not marry a founder but I did marry a half Korean man and marrying into an Asian family has been so wonderful and such a learning experience in the best possible way. I have experienced and been taught how cultures are different and how they are alike. For example, In my mother in law’s culture, the men are fed first and kids last. In my culture, the Deep South, kids almost always come first and the husbands last. I can say for certainty that both cultures could use some tweaking on who comes first but have valid points to both.

Speaking of food and who does or doesn’t get fed first, I have been taught how to cook to few Korean dishes that are now my go to -win them over- dish that I cook for friends. Bulgogi and Hot chicken are family favorites around here. Making these dishes are time consuming and I can see why it gets harder and harder to pass down traditions. No one really wants to spend hours and hours in the kitchen for one meal when so many other things are panning for our attention.

Today we went with my in-laws to the Assi International Market in Atlanta. Going to any international market is loads of fun because it is a guarantee you will see something new and strange. This is my first time ever going to this one and it was so great to go mid week and count it as a homeschooling field trip. This is a light week of school because of the play this Friday and it was the perfect time to go. We shockingly did not get caught in any Atlanta traffic and even made it through Chattanooga with out a hitch. Nashville though 😑That’s another story and a bunch of side roads to avoid traffic.

Here is a few pictures of our time in Atlanta. First up is the never ending mirror.

Next is our short moments in downtown Atlanta. Jerry needed to updated his passport and this was the quickest way. We parked and while he got it done we walked across the street to the Marriot Hotel.

After Jerry was done we drove to the market. Food first. Obviously

Jack fruit aka dinosaur egg

The end.
