I last wrote about my christmas gift to my husband. I said that I would make breakfast and dinner for the whole month of January. I am so happy to say that it was a success. I found it was surprising easy. This in and of itself is funny because in my mind I have set it up to be super hard and overwhelming at times. We rolled right into February with easy and only missed a handful of meals. March has by far been the hardest but it has many reason that came into play causing the schedule to be messed up.

.

My oldest daughter and her husband welcomed their baby boy in March. He is perfect and a whopper at 10.6 oz
In the mist of all the excitement we also got the very sad news that my mother in law was giving about two weeks left to live. We were not sure if she would meet her great grand baby. On Tuesday March 8, 2022, Grandma got to meet Theo. It was so precious and bitter sweet. We all knew it was the only time she would see him. We took lots of adorable pictures and shed lots of tears. When she made it home the next day, Wednesday, she soon had to be taking to the hospital and passed away in her sleep 5 days later on March 21, 2022.
What an amazing gift from the Lord. He was bringing her home but allowed her to stay until she met her great grand son. God is in the small things.

Theo is now 7 weeks old and everyone is trying to adjust to a new normal. We are loving the gift of facetime because we get to see him daily.

Did I post about getting a dog? Well we have a goldendoodle and he is so wonderful. We named him Abraham and everyone loves him so much. He is the perfect fit for our family. We surprised the kids with him on Christmas day, even though he had already been with us for a month. We were “watching” him for a friend who was going to surprise his sister on Christmas. The kids did not know that he was ours the whole time. My husband really wanted the Christmas day surprise but little Abe was ready for pick up around Thanksgiving….hence the pretend story to have him at our house and still honor daddy’s desire to for the surprise.

These are three of a thousands photos that we now have of Abe on our phone. He is awesome even though he takes stranger danger very seriously and barks like crazy when someone new comes over.
We have now been homeschooling (again) for three years. Next year we will start a new co-op. The one we are at now is AMAZING but with so many families graduating out and not knowing where we will meet next year we have decided to move on. I am so grateful for the families we have met these past three years. Ours lives are greatly improved from meeting them.
I think I need to bring back the “gift” of cooking dinner each night though this is a challenge now that summer is approaching. Do you cook dinner at home? How about every night? Leave a msg what you do and maybe a favorite recipe.
Ok, that is a warp. Now that I have a working lap top maybe I can do more post…….
